BROWN COUNTY
Jack G. Junemann, age 86 passed away Saturday, Nov. 12, 2022 at IU Health Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis. He was a resident of Brown County and former resident of Indianapolis.
Jack was born Feb. 2, 1936, in Indianapolis, to his parents, the late Hans and Erika (Brockel) Junemann. He was a 1950 graduate of Broad Ripple High School and proudly served his country with the United States Army.
Jack worked for Xerox as a Technical Specialist for 25 years, retiring in 1986. After retirement, he built a house near Nineveh and called Brown County home.
Jack was an active member of the Cordry-Sweetwater Volunteer Fire Department for the last 31 years. There, he served in various capacities over the years including Treasurer, Lieutenant and organized the garage sale fundraisers.
Jack was also a former member of the Zoning Appeals Board and helped establish the 911 system in Brown County. Jack will be remembered for being a human encyclopedia as well as his many skills and talents in mechanics and construction.
He will be missed by his dear friends Rodney and Rita Gunter of Brown County, and Ken and Lynn Dixon of Noblesville as well as many fellow volunteer fire fighters and friends.
A funeral service with military honors was held on Monday, Nov. 21 at Meredith-Clark Funeral Home Cremation & Personalization Center, 179 E. Mulberry Street in Morgantown. Friends called from 5 p.m. until service time at the funeral home.
Military rites were presented by the United States Army and the Brown County Honor Guard. Jack will be laid to rest next to his parents at Oaklawn Memorial Gardens at a later date. A celebration of Jack’s life will also be held this spring at his property in Brown County.
