Bernard K. ‘Buck’ Means

Bernard K. ‘Buck’ Means, age 66 passed away peacefully on Friday afternoon, Dec. 9, 2022 at his home in Nashville.

Buck was born on Oct. 27, 1956 in Indianapolis, to his parents, the late Harold M. and Florence (Witt) Means. He attended Arsenal Tech High School in Indianapolis and went on to serve as a Private First Class with the Company A 2/237TH Infantry 101st Airborne Infantry of the United States Army. Buck worked in construction, specializing in Log Cabins and other unique home builds in the Brown County area.

He enjoyed fishing, mushroom hunting and working on automobiles. Buck was a fan of old western movies, with John Wayne and Clint Eastwood being his favorite actors. His true passion was his love of his family and togetherness. Buck enjoyed caring for his family, especially his grandchildren, but also loved caring for other children in need of a good home.

He is survived by his loving significant other for the last 29 years, Leona (Kean) Baker of Nashville; children, Bernard (Alex) Means Jr. of Tennessee, Amber (Eric) McCollough of Greencastle, John (Amber) Baker of Bloomington, Leah (fiancé Robert Holland) Means of Nashville and Jonathan (Eva) Reimer of Columbus; sisters, Dawn Britton of Indianapolis, Tonnie Shehan of Bloomington and Catherine (William) Mefford of Nashville; and ten grandchildren.

Buck was preceded by his parents; and siblings, Mark, Scott, Von ‘Zeke’ and Ray Means.

A Celebration of Buck’s Life will be held at a later date. Cremation services have been entrusted Meredith-Clark Funeral Home Cremation & Personalization Center in Morgantown.
