HOLIDAY EVENTS: ‘Christmas Carol’ at the playhouse; Winter band concerts; Christmas Eve service in Freetown

Christmas Carol

The Brown County Playhouse, 70 S Van Buren St., will show the Dickensian Christmas tale on Friday, Dec. 16 and Saturday, Dec. 17, at 7:30 p.m.

Tickets are $25, and concessions are available for purchase in the auditorium.

Brown County Christmas Sing-Along

Local musicians Chuck Wills and Kara Barnard will host a community Christmas sing-along at 2:30 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 18 at the Brown County Playhouse, 70 S. Van Buren St.

Brown County Schools performing winter concerts

The community is invited to concerts supporting Brown County Schools this week.

Brown County School bands will perform together at 6 p.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 14 at the Brown County High School auditorium, 235 Schoolhouse Lane.

The Brown County Middle School choir will perform at 5:30 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 16, at the middle school.

Both concerts are free to the public.

Donate goodies for health, living center

All are invited to donate snacks, candies, sugar free items and signed Christmas Cards for the residents at Brown County Health and Living.

Items can be brought until Dec. 20 to the Brown County Assessor’s Office, 201 Locust Lane, who will take them to be distributed to the residents.

Christmas Eve service

FREETOWN — Becks Grove Christian Church, 8009 Becks Grove Road, Freetown will host a Christmas Eve service at 7 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 24.

There will be candlelight communion and singing of Christmas songs.

Victorian candlelit dinner

STORY — Story Inn, 6404 State Road 135 South, will offer holiday candlelight dining experiences that will take guests back to 1851, at the height of the reign of England’s Queen Victoria.

The dinners are at 5 and 7:30 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays through December.
