Carl “Keith” Goodwin

Carl “Keith” Goodwin, age 88, of Nashville, Ind., passed away Friday, Dec. 16, 2022 at the Brown County Health and Living Community in Nashville. Born Oct. 19, 1934, in Morristown, Ind., he was the son of Dorothy (Tucker) and Ray Borders, and Lloyd Goodwin. Keith served six years in the U.S. Army and Army National Guard. He retired as the plant supervisor for Insley Manufacturing in Indianapolis. He formerly was the general foreman for Chambers Aircraft in Shelbyville and did construction work as well. He was an active member of the Parkview Nazarene Church in Nashville and American Legion Post #70 in Shelbyville, Indiana. Keith was an avid fisherman, loved hunting mushrooms and spending time with his family. Keith loved serving the Lord, read his Bible daily and loved feeding the deer.
Keith is survived by his wife of 71 years, Cordelia Ann “Dee” (Shaw) Goodwin, of Nashville; four children, Debra (John) McDowell, of Greenwood, Ind., Vickie (Donald) Ritchey, of Westport, Ind., Dennis (Regina) Goodwin, of Elizabethtown, Ind. and Andy (Darla) Goodwin, of Nashville, 13 grandchildren, 46 great-grandchildren and 11 great-great-grandchildren; eight siblings, Eugene Goodwin, of Shelbyville, Glendola Phelps, of North Vernon, Donald Borders, of Nashville, Marilyn Kritzer, of Bloomington, Larry Borders, of Nashville, Rhea Borders, of Bloomington, William Goodwin, of California and Patee Brown, of California.
Keith was preceded in death by his parents Ray and Dorothy (Tucker) Borders and Lloyd Goodwin and his sister Susan (Borders) Butts.
The funeral service will be held on Friday, Dec. 23 at 11 a.m. at the Parkview Nazarene Church in Nashville; 1759 State Road 46 East. Graveside committal services will follow at 2 p.m. Friday at Miller Cemetery near Shelbyville where the Shelbyville American Legion Post # 70 will perform military rites. Friends may visit the family on Thursday, Dec. 22 from 4 to 7 p.m. at the church.
The family suggests memorial contributions be given to the Parkview Nazarene Church.
