Musicians needed to play in pit at spring musical

Local musicians are needed to play in the pit for upcoming spring musical at Brown County High School.

This year’s performance is “Shrek: The Musical.”

Parts needed are: Keyboard 1; keyboard 2; Guitar 1 (archtop guitar, electric stratocaster, electric guitar, nylon acoustic, steel guitar, steel string acoustic, ukulele); Guitar 2 (electric guitar, mandolin, nylon acoustic, steel string acoustic, 12-string acoustic); Electric bass (acoustic bass, electric bass, electric 5-string).

It is preferred, but not required that musicians have all the above-mentioned instruments, as we will adapt as necessary.

There will be some financial compensation, which is currently under advisement of the BCHS Theatre Department.

Interested persons should be able to comfortably read regular music notation and “Pop Chord” symbols where relevant.

Musicians need to be available for rehearsals April 4-6, 8, 10-13.

Performances are April 14-16.

It is preferred to have musicians at a few rehearsals leading up to the tech rehearsal time, BCHS Band Director Matt Finley said last week, so the pit can get used to having outside musicians with the rest of the instrumentalists.

Normally rehearsals are from 3:30 to 5 p.m., Monday and Friday starting in February.

If you’re interested, contact Finley at [email protected].
