BCHS freshman places third at regionals, competes at semi-state

Brown County Freshman Jackson Reed placed third at wrestling regionals on Friday, Feb. 3. and qualified for semi-state.

The semi-state competition was held in Evansville on Feb. 11. Though he did not place, Reed was one of only two freshman in his class to compete at this level.

Reed fell in the first round to Northview High School senior Dalton Simmons, who had a record of 30-6.

Jackson’s father Andy Reed said that the young wrestler is “pumped for next year.”

“And (he) wants the community to know he appreciated all the support,” Andy said following semi-state.
