Maxine JoAnn Moore Bailey, 85, of Brown County, Indiana passed from this life Monday, April 17, 2023. She was born Oct. 11, 1937, in Pikes Peak in Southern Brown County. Indiana to Aquilla D. and D. LaVerne Reed Moore.
Maxine was a member of the Pikes Peak Church of Christ in Brown County. She enjoyed politics, gardening, and most of all spending time with her family. She loved her kids very much.
She is survived by her three children, Joyce (Matt) Willoughby, Teresa (Chuck) Dill, and Charles D. Bailey; five grandchildren, Charles A. Bailey, Bre Bailey, Brandon Bailey, Seth Herrin and Casey Herrin; eight great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; sister, Phyllis Stone; and several nieces and nephews.
Maxine was preceded in death by her parents; husband, David R. Bailey; and her life partner, Michael E. O’Hara.
The funeral service will be 2 p.m. Friday, April 21 at Barkes, Weaver & Glick Funeral Home on Jonathan Moore Pike with Jon Kay officiating.
Family and friends may gather for visitation from 12:00 p.m. Friday, April 21 till time of services at the funeral home.
Burial will follow at Melott Cemetery in Brown County.
In memory of Mrs. Bailey memorial contributions may be given through the funeral home to Our Hospice of South Central Indiana.
