Local goat farm open for tours

BELMONT — Visit the Goat Conspiracy farm, 6022 Kent Rd., and meet goats, including recent baby goats and chickens, and see where milk and cheese are made.

Goat Conspiracy offers weekly farm visits and tours every Friday, Saturday and Sunday afternoons at 1 and 2 p.m.

Farm tours and visits are $15 per person and preregistration is required. To register for a farm visit/tour, sign up at thegoatconspiracy.com/visit-the-farm.

Take a hike

On Wednesday, May 24 consider taking a hike at Brown County State Park. You could join a park naturalist for a guided hike of the Discovery Trail. This is a general hike about a variety of Brown County State Park topics. Learn about flora, fauna, pioneer history, and the interesting geology of Brown County State Park. The Discovery Trail is about half a mile long and considered moderate. There are muddy spots, uneven surfaces, and slopes. The trail will take us about 40 minutes to complete. The hike begins at 4 p.m. at the Discovery Center.

Watch a vintage movie

On Thursday, May 25 you can join a park naturalist and view a 1940s era advertisement for Indiana State Parks at Brown County State Park! Learn about the mission of Indiana State Parks, see highlights of some of our famous locations, and learn how as our understanding of our resources changes, so must our policies and practices! The program and video lasts 30 minutes total. The film begins at 4 p.m. at the Nature Center.
