PET TAILS: Looking for a loyal friend for life? Look no further than Inga

Do you walk up and give a stranger a big bear hug? NOPE!

Do you have friends that light up your life and you’re always excited to see? YEP!

Do you walk up to perfect strangers and shake their hand? NOPE!

Does it take you a little time to figure people out before you trust them with your heart? YEP!

Like most people you probably prefer to get to know someone before getting too chummy. That’s what you and shelter dog Inga have in common!

Inga is the sweetest soul once she’s sure she can trust you. Then you’re best buddies for life! That’s when Inga will turn on the charm. Unfortunately, that initial aloofness is a turn-off to many people who come to the shelter to see about adopting a dog. If you don’t take the time to know Inga, it’s easy to pass right over her and never get to discover the sweetheart that she is.

Inga recently spent the afternoon at a volunteer’s home and she investigated every toy the resident doggy had. Inga preferred the squeaky ones! She then got on the couch for some snuggles with the volunteer.

Besides enjoying time with her human friends, Inga loves to play rough and rowdy with other dogs. She has a bestie at the shelter, Rex, and the two of them are crazy about their play dates. They run and chase each other, roll around on the ground together and just have a blast. Some dogs love her exuberant play style, and others don’t.

In addition to her stunning looks – a beautiful chocolate coat, deep amber eyes, expressive ears – Inga is super smart and loves to learn new things. She is very treat motivated and therefore easy to train. Her mouth- eye coordination is extraordinary! She already knows sit, down and shake. She is such a fun dog to teach new tricks.

Inga is about 2 years old and weighs 70 pounds. She has many years of love ready to give a new family.

If you are looking for a loyal, lifetime friend and are willing to take a little time to get to know Inga, consider opening your heart to this amazing girl. She’s worth it!

Inga is eligible for our Foster to Family program which means you can take her home for up to 2 weeks to see if she is the perfect pet for your home before officially adopting!

Stop by the shelter to learn more about Inga, or complete an online application and a staff member will follow up to answer any questions. www.bchumane.org/adoption-application/.
