BROWN COUNTY
Connie Jo (Bay) Hubbard, age 72, passed away peacefully on Thursday afternoon, August 31, 2023 at her home in Brown County.
Connie was born March 1, 1951, in Brown County, to her parents, the late Marvin R. and Josephine (Hatchett) Bay. She was a 1970 graduate of Brown County High School. She married Donald “Donnie” R. Hubbard on October 4, 1968 in Brown County and were blessed with 4 children and 41 loving years of marriage, before his passing in August 2010.
Connie retired in 1992 after working as a housekeeper for the Indiana Masonic Home in Franklin for 19 years. She was a member of the Locust Grove Pentecostal Church and a former member of Greasy Creek Pentecostal Church. Connie was also a member of the Brown County Saddle Club and the Brown County Rough Riders Association. She enjoyed reading Jeanette Oaks novels, horseback riding, crocheting, cooking and working in her vegetable and flower gardens. Most of all, Connie loved attending church, listening to gospel music and spending time with her family.
Connie will be missed by her children, Angela Shipley of New Whiteland, Amanda Hubbard of Brown County, Michael (Stephanie) Hubbard of Bloomington and Mathew Hubbard of Brown County; grandchildren, Donna Hubbard, Roland Urich, Jessie Phillips, Aurora Hubbard and Harlequin Hubbard; sisters, Deloris (Bob) Wilson of Kokomo &Diane (Guy) Fish of Nashville.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Donnie, and siblings: Rosemary Sisson, Edith Glidden, Rex, Earl, Wendall and James “Bob” Bay, baby brother Donald and infant twins Linda &Carol Bay.
A funeral service was held at 1 p.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 5th, at Meredith – Clark Funeral Home: 179 E. Mulberry Street in Morgantown. Friends called until service time at the funeral home. Burial was at East Hill Cemetery in Morgantown.
