Larry Sartin, age 83, of Greenwood, passed away October 29, 2023. He was born in Lawrenceburg, Indiana, on July 24, 1940, to Claude and Fern Sartin. Larry had a fondness for travel and adventure. He loved traveling both across the United States and internationally, enjoyed Broadway musicals, valued good food, and had a passion for entrepreneurship. Throughout his life, he lived in various states and held an endless number of jobs, but was best known as the owner of the Dairy Queen in Nashville, Indiana, and the owner of several Sunmart Convenience Stores throughout southern Indiana. Having a passion for helping animals, Larry served on the board of numerous animal shelters and non-profits, including the Greyhound Pets of America and Brown County Humane Society. Above all else, he enjoyed the time he spent with his family, especially his children and grandchildren.

Larry is survived by his wife: Sandra Hert-Sartin; daughter-in-law: Selena Sartin; as well as grandchildren: Jessica Thrasher, Robert Thrasher, Keya Ribblett, Krista Sartin, Samantha Blais; and many great-grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by his sons: Michael Sartin, and Troy Sartin; his parents: Claude and Hanna Fern Sartin; first wife: Ramona Sartin; along with five siblings.

Visitation will be held on November 17, 2023, at 1:00 p.m., followed by a memorial service at 3:00 p.m., at Simplicity Funeral &Cremation Care, 7520 Madison Ave., Indianapolis.
