Lloyd Hershel Sisson, 90, of Nashville, IN, passed away at 1:30 a.m. on Sunday, December 17, 2023, at the Brown County health and Living Community in Nashville.

Born on December 10, 1933, in Trafalgar, IN, Lloyd was the loving son of Virgil and Nellie (Chitwood) Sisson. He was united in marriage to Donna Steininger in 1956. She preceded him in death on April 4, 2015.

After graduating high school from Helmsburg High School, Lloyd was drafted and served in the US Army for 2 years. He retired after 37 years working for Cummins. Lloyd was a faithful member of the Parkview Nazarene Church. In a life that included God, family and work he was a busy man. In his so-called retirement from Cummins he mowed grass for numerous families, friends, cemeteries, and shops around Nashville. Over the years, he handcrafted thousands of birdhouses from recycled lumber for friends and family.

Left to cherish his memory are sons, Gary (Teresa) Sisson of North Vernon, and Donald (Susie) Sisson of

Chicago, IL.; daughter, Janut Slevin of Nashville; grandchildren, Tyler (Bridget) Sisson of Franklin, Kimber (Alex) Alexander of South Dakota, Tori Sisson of North Vernon, David Sisson of Nashville, Dwight, Declan, and Dalton Sisson all of Chicago, IL.; sisters, Mary Frownfelter of TN, Helen Underwood of Martinsville, Marilyn Kirts of Ogelville, Becky Scrogham of Nashville; brothers, Robert Sisson of Clifford, Lester Sisson of Nashville, and Thurl Sisson of Martinsville; 6 great grandchildren.

Lloyd was preceded in death by his parents, Virgil and Nellie Sisson; wife, Donna Sisson; sons, Thomas Dwight Sisson, and Roger Sisson; sisters, Marjorie Collett, Catherine Sisson, Emma Butler, Phyllis O’Quinn, Virginia Mathis, Carolyn Mathis, and Thelma Sisson; brothers, Chelsea, Alvin, and Harry Sisson.

A funeral service was conducted on Saturday, December 23, 2023, at Parkview Nazarene Church in Nashville, IN. Gary Sisson and Pastor Jason Riggle officiated. Burial was held in the Oak Ridge Cemetery in Brown County. Sawyer-Pickett Funeral and Cremation Service were entrusted with the arrangements.
