Where’s There: You’ve got mail!

Hiya Brown County! I hope you didn’t miss our local spots too much … I have a new one for you this week!

This is a very pivotal location to send and receive correspondence. Whether shipping last minute gifts, letters to a lover on the frontlines (I think I might be watching too much Outlander) or paying the dreaded bills, this is where many of you visit to send parcels.

I remember coming here from a young age when I would ship letters and packages to out-of-state penpals.

There’s something special about sealing and dropping off envelopes knowing they are going to be driven or flown across the country for days to be delivered to the recipient.

Sure, sending emails and messages are more convenient, but don’t you miss the tangibility of a handwritten letter? The mystery, the element of surprise, the wait time… do you feel me, Brown County? I don’t know, I digress.

The last love letter I sent went unanswered, so what do I know?

You know who you are.

I feel like you know me well enough by now that I can be honest with you. Everytime I go to send packages, I panic and search for a step-by-step guide on filling out a shipping label on my phone. Anyone else? Is it my age, or has society really come to this?

If you think you know where I am this week, send us an email at [email protected] or stop by our office to see us in person with your guess. One lucky person will receive their very own copy of the coveted 175 Years of Brown County and winners agree to have their photo taken with me.

Last week we had five correct guesses from Sharon Roth, Jesse Henderson, Chris Eickleberry, Pam Hochstetler and Michael Fulton that I was at the Leaning Tower of Pisa. Grazie mille!

While you are all winners in my heart, there can only be one… Put some time on the board, the winner of last week’s puzzle is Jesse Henderson. Thank you, Jesse! You’re the best. Feel free to stop by our office during regular office hours (M-F, 9-4) to pick up your copy and take a photo with me. We’re out and about a lot so you might want to call ahead first (988-2221) to make sure I’m here.

For now, I’ll see you next week same time, same channel.
