Three Nineveh residents charged for drug possession

NINEVEH – A 49-year-old woman Michelle Gault, 43-year-old man Robert Saunders and 37-year-old man Patrick Jackson from Nineveh have been charged with two level 6 felonies for possession of methamphetamine and maintaining a common nuisance, controlled substances. In addition, they have been charged with a class B misdemeanor for possession of marijuana and a class C misdemeanor for possession of paraphernalia.

Jackson was also charged with a level 6 felony for unlawful possession of a syringe.

On July 8, Sergeant Austin Schonfeld submitted a search warrant for a residence in the 6400 block of Badger Drive where Gault, Saunders and Jackson were believed to reside.

According to the report, the warrant was regarding illegal narcotic use and dealing.

Schonfeld, Lieutenant Colton Magner, Sheriff’s deputies Cody Loncaric, Zaccary Sheppard, Jeffrey Dames and Nashville Police Chief Heather Burris responded to the location to execute the search warrant.

According to the report, in the house they found a safe with around 100 unused syringes, a tin canister used to store narcotics, tie-offs and alcohol wipes. They also allegedly found a sharps container and two stacked cups with a crystal-like substance that was believed to be methamphetamine.

According to the report, they also found various additional containers with unused syringes throughout the house, as well as a marijuana pipe with marijuana, a baggie of a substance believed to be methamphetamine and multiple devices used to ingest the drug.

Nashville man charged for domestic battery

NASHVILLE – A 37-year-old Nashville man Justin Irwin has been charged with a level 6 felony for battery by means of a deadly weapon and a class A misdemeanor for domestic battery.

On July 3, Indiana State Police Trooper Matt Fleener responded to a report of battery in the 2800 block on Whitehorse Road.

According to the report, Irwin and his brother were arguing when their mother tried intervening and was shoved by Irwin. She allegedly tripped over a pressure washer and fell to the ground.

Irwin’s brother allegedly grabbed Irwin and Irwin struck him twice in the torso with a hammer. According to the report, Irwin’s mother was able to get the hammer away from him as his brother restrained him on the ground.

According to the report, Irwin’s brother had a swollen red mark on his torso that was consistent with the face of the hammer.

Vehicle crashed into fallen tree on Nineveh Road

HAMBLEN TWP. – On July 4, Lieutenant Colton Magner was dispatched to the 9600 block of Nineveh Road for a report that a 2018 gray Chrysler Pacifica crashed into a fallen tree.

According to the report, Crystal Allen was driving on Nineveh Road when a tree began to fall in front of her minivan. Allen allegedly saw the tree falling but was unable to completely stop the vehicle in time.

According to the report, Allen had abrasions and minor bleeding around her knee from airbag deployment, but refused medical treatment on the scene. Allen allegedly had a juvenile child with her who was uninjured.

According to the report the vehicle was leaking fluid in the roadway as a result of the damage and Cordry Sweetwater Fire Department cleaned up the fluids with fluid absorbent. The tree was allegedly laying on telephone lines and was removed by the Brown County Highway Department with no significant damage to the lines or poles.

Pedestrian struck by motor vehicle; Pedestrian OK

WASHINGTON TWP. – On July 3, Sheriff’s Deputy Kyle Minor responded to a crash on Nelson Ridge Road at the intersection of Dobbs Cemetery.

According to the report, a 2009 white Chevrolet Impala driven by Richard Burton approached a hill crest in the 900 block when he struck a pedestrian on the arm with the passenger side mirror. Burton allegedly did not see the pedestrian Andrew Ford until he was on top of the hill and when he tried getting over far enough, he still struck Ford.

Ford was allegedly walking with his back facing traffic. According to the report, he had a red mark on his left arm and was treated by EMS at the scene before being transported to the hospital.
