Garbage truck flipped on side in ditch

JACKSON TWP. – On July 23, Sheriff’s Deputy Zaccary Sheppard responded to an unknown motor vehicle crash on Helmsburg Road near the Grandma Barnes Road intersection after dispatch advised that a Rumpke garbage truck was flipped on its side with the driver trapped inside the vehicle.

According to the report when Sheppard arrived on site, the driver Austin Hatfield was being examined by emergency medical services. Hatfield allegedly sustained a minor injury on his arm but refused medical treatment.

Hatfield was allegedly driving on Helmsburg Road when a deer ran into the roadway in front of him. He ran off the road. According to the report, the area of road has a drop off which is what pulled Hatfield into the ditch.

Hatfield allegedly tried to overcorrect the steering wheel and the truck flipped on its passenger side.

According to the report, Hatfield was not wearing his seatbelt because he was driving a short distance down the road before another trash pick-up and the airbags of the truck did not work.

Nashville man charged with disorderly conduct

NASHVILLE – A 37-year-old Nashville man William Jarboe has been charged with a class B misdemeanor for disorderly conduct.

According to the report, on July 10, Jarboe engaged in shouting obscene and threatening statements directed at the police and complainant while they were engaged in an investigation on Jarboe.

Jarboe allegedly disrupted the investigation by moving toward the complainant, who was also his girlfriend and the officers in an aggressive manner.

According to the report, Trooper Matt Fleener, Lieutenant Colton Magner and Sheriff’s Deputy Gregory Duke instructed him to stop and cautioned him that he would be arrested if he continued. Jarboe allegedly did not stop his behavior and was physically aggressive to his girlfriend while being handcuffed.

Vehicle off road, hits guardrail

HAMBLEN TWP. – On July 17, Sheriff’s Deputy Cody Loncaric responded to a crash in the 9000 block of Nineveh Road.

According to the report, Loncaric observed a blue Ford Fusion in a field behind a guardrail. There was damage to the north end of the guardrail and heavy damage to the front driver’s side of the vehicle. According to the report, there was substantial damage to the rest of the vehicle as well.

There was a rut left by the vehicle from when it left the roadway and struck the guardrail on the driver’s side.

According to the report, the vehicle was towed and the driver Ciera Beckwith was transported by emergency medical services.

Motorcycle ran off roadway on Sweetwater Drive, motorcyclist OK

HAMBLEN TWP. – On July 18, Sheriff’s Deputy Kyle Minor responded to a crash at the Sweetwater and Hummingbird drives intersection.

According to the report, Dale Hatfield was driving a black Yamaha XV1700 Road Warrior on Sweetwater Drive when he lost control of the motorcycle and ran off the roadway.

Hatfield allegedly had a bandage on his elbow and arm, but refused emergency medical services.

According to the report, Hatfield moved his bike back to his residence on Grizzly Drive before Minor arrived on the scene, but the accident was captured by a witness’ camera system.
