Koch to vice chair Interim Study Committee

State Sen. Eric Koch, a Republican who represents Senate District 44, which includes Brown, Jackson, Lawrence and Orange counties and portions of Monroe County, has been named to serve as vice chair of the Interim Study Committee on Energy, Utilities and Telecommunications to prepare for the 2025 legislative session.

This year, the committee will review the Indiana Utility Regulatory Commission’s annual reports.

Legislators will meet over the summer and fall months to discuss topics approved by the bipartisan Legislative Council, which is comprised of 16 voting members – eight from the Senate and eight from the House of Representatives.

Koch, chairman of the Senate Committee on Utilities, holds a graduate certificate in Energy Policy Planning from the University of Idaho and is an attorney with the Koch Law Firm P.C. He is also the Ranking Member of the Senate Committee on the Judiciary and the Senate Committee on Commerce and Technology. He also serves on the Senate Committee on Corrections and Criminal Law.
