Dolores M. (Clark) Gipson, age 91 passed away peacefully on Tuesday morning, July 23, 2024 at Community Hospital South in Indianapolis. She was a resident of Brown County.

Dolores was born September 10, 1932 in Indianapolis, to parents, the late George F. and Margaret M. (Hungate) Clark. She was a 1950 graduate of Reitz Memorial High School in Evansville. Dolores was a loving wife, mother and homemaker who enjoyed working in her flower gardens, walking in nature and writing poetry. Delores was a member of Bear Creek Church in Brown County, Cottonwood Homemakers Club and the Morgantown Order of the Eastern Star.

Besides her parents, Dolores was preceded in death on December 28, 2022 by her husband of 73 years, Robert L. Gipson, whom she married on March 5, 1949 in Henderson, KY. She was also preceded in death by sisters, Betty Midgett and Joyce Summers; son-in-law, Richard Lawlor; and a great grandson, Jacob Robertson.

Dolores is survived by her children, Kathy Gipson of Brown County, Debra (Rex) Lovett of Elkhart, Robyn Lawlor of Nashville and Robert D. Gipson of Sellersburg; sister, Sandra Johnson of Vincennes; 12 grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren &4 great-great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

A visitation was held on Saturday, July 27th from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. at Meredith-Clark Funeral Home Cremation &Personalization Center, 179 E. Mulberry St. in Morgantown. The Rev. Darrel Miller conducted a funeral service on Saturday at 12 p.m. at the funeral home. Dolores was laid to rest next to her husband at East Hill Cemetery in Morgantown.
