Local Sarah Roberts returns as High School assistant principal

Sarah Roberts will be taking over as Brown County High School’s assistant principal after Chuck Hutchins left the district to move closer to his family.

Roberts is a Brown County High School alum with 18 years of educational experience. She began her career in education in Brown County schools as a teacher at Sprunica and Nashville elementaries and is returning as assistant principal at the high school.

Her most recent role was as Dean of students at Clark Pleasant Middle School where she spent the past seven years.

Roberts said that she wants to help create an environment at Brown County High School where every student can feel valued and empowered to reach their full potential and are prepared for the day after graduation.

“With a passion for education and a commitment to fostering a positive and inclusive environment, I am excited to contribute to the continued success of our school,” Roberts said.

She said she was excited about the opportunity of working with students and staff in her home-town community and she wants to prioritize connecting with the the families, staff and students at Brown County High School as the year goes on. “Sarah Roberts and her family live here,” Superintendent Emily Tracy said. “She was a middle school coach before, this is coming home for her. We love providing opportunities to the people of this community.”

Roberts and Sherohman said they are both people who believe in out of the box thinking and creating huge opportunities for their students.
