Where’s There: Between the Pages

Hey there, Brown County! It’s your gleeful gallivanter back again with a new location.

This location is downtown Nashville and is a place where people young and old can buy first class tickets to another reality. What is that quote about books being a pathway to other worlds? Gotta love escapism, am I right?

If you can’t tell by now, the more whimsy a book has for me, the better.

Bringing up books with me is a terrible idea. You get a front row seat to my presentation of theories and worldbuilding. I could talk your ear off for hours, but I could also tell you about how Brown County has two of the most adorable book stores I’ve ever seen— hint, hint.

This location is close to me in many ways… to my heart and to my office.

Think you know where I am? Send us an email at [email protected] or stop by our office with your guess in-person. One lucky person will be chosen at random to win their very own copy of 175 Years of Brown County.

Last week you guys went crazy about the location, we had nine correct guesses that I was at the beautiful Story Inn from Karen Zody, Brooke Hertz, Danny Snow— a previous Democrat reporter, Dawn Snider, Sharon Roth, Jessica Poling, Jordan Kyle, David Hyde and Michael Brand. Wow! Thank you guys for helping me out! I can’t tell whether you were more excited about the historic inn or the ghosts— OK, I probably know the answer. It makes me even more excited for fall, maybe some of our readers can share more spooky locations around the county.

After a random drawing… of balled up sticky notes in an unused coffee cup, hey it’s not lavish but it’s home, our winner is Michael Brand! Congratulations, Michael and welcome home from Louisiana! Let’s hear it for Brown County High School’s class of ‘78!

Feel free to stop by our office during regular hours (M-F, 9-4) to pick up your copy of 175 Years of Brown County and get a photo with me! We are out and about a lot, so you might want to call ahead (988-2221) to make sure we’re here!
