 Community Bible Study Starting in September

Everyone is invited to an interdenominational Bible study called Community Bible Study. Our group is for anyone who wants to find out why the Bible still matters today. Beginning the fourth year in our community, we will study the book of Matthew this year. We will meet on Wednesdays beginning Sept. 11 at 1 p.m. at Parkview Church, 1750 IN-46, Nashville, located across from the Brown County State Park north entrance. Come and join us!

For Kids

Morning Storytime, Tuesdays, Sept. 10 & 17 · 10:30 a.m., Stories, songs, rhymes and crafts for kids under 6 with their caregivers.

Pre-K Days: Words and Wiggles, Thursday, Sept. 12 · 10:30 a.m., Creative movement and dance followed by open play time. For kids under 6. Registration requested.

For Teens

ATLAS (At the Library After School), Wednesday, Sept. 11 & 18 · 3:15 – 5 p.m., Drop in after school for hang time, games, crafts and snacks. For grades 6-12.

For Many Ages

2nd Annual Chopped! at the Library, Friday, Sept. 13 · 5:30 p.m., Show off your culinary skills! Gather a team of cooks for a friendly cooking competition under the solar panels. Contestants will have to create a delicious cold dish from a box of mystery ingredients and food pantry staples which will be judged by audience members and our guest judges. The top teams will then continue on to round 2 and one team will go home as Chopped! at the Library Champions. Team registration required. Audience welcome to drop in.

Tech Help Thursdays on Thursdays from 2 p.m. to 3 p.m., Drop in any Thursday for basic help with electronic devices and software questions.

For Adults

Gentle Yoga for Everybody, Wednesdays, Sept. 4 – Oct. 9 · 10 a.m., A 6-week course of gentle, slow paced stretches for all ages and abilities, in a safe, compassionate, non-competitive environment. Exercises can be modified, including chair poses, so that everyone can participate. Wear comfortable clothing and bring a yoga mat or large towel. Space limited to 15 participants. Registration requested.

Novel Bunch Book Club: The Shipping News Book Discussion and Movie, Wednesday, Sept. 18 · Book Discussion at 1:30 p.m. · Movie begins at 2 p.m., Join the discussion of “The Shipping News” by then watch the movie. Everyone is welcome.

Movies at the Library

Family Movie Night, Monday, September 9 · 4:30 – 7 p.m., Drop in and watch the live action movie featuring everyone’s favorite mermaid princess. Snacks will be provided, but you are welcome to bring your own picnic and have dinner and a movie!

The Brown County History Center and Pioneer Village

The Pioneer Village is open for the summer/fall season. The village will be open from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturdays and Sundays. Tours can be arranged upon request. Call the B.C. History center at (812) 988-2899 to make arrangements. The Village is maintained by donations. Come and visit the past.

The History Center is open Tuesdays. Wednesdays. Fridays and Saturdays. 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Come see all things Brown County.

The Archives are open on Tuesdays and Fridays 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Special times may be arranged by calling the History Center at (812) 988-2899.

​CVB Monthly Meeting Location

The standing location of the monthly CVB meetings held on the third Tuesday of the month at 8:30 a.m. It will no longer be in the upstairs conference room at the Visitors Center, it will instead be in the downstairs meeting room of the Cornerstone Inn, unless otherwise announced.
