Nineveh man charged with three counts of child molestation

NINEVEH – A 57-year-old Nineveh man Terry Sanders has been charged with three level 1 felonies for child molesting.

In late June, Detective Brian Shrader began investigating a case related to possible sexual misconduct with a minor. According to the report, the victim was 12 at the time of the investigation.

During the investigation Shrader allegedly observed messages on the victim’s phone stating that she lost her virginity at 8-years-old and was raped by her step-grandfather. According to the report, Shrader spoke with the victim about these messages and she said that she was molested by Sanders.

On July 3, the victim was taken to Susie’s Place Child Advocacy Center in Bloomington for a forensic interview.

The victim allegedly said that the first time she was molested was when she was eight-years-old.

She was allegedly staying at her grandmother’s house in the 3500 block of Sprunica Road. According to the report, she said that Sanders allegedly took her to his bedroom and molested her. The next incident was also when she was spending the night with her grandmother who was out of the house at the time. Sanders allegedly took the victim to his bedroom again saying he had a surprise for her. According to the report, Sanders held her down by the neck and raped her. According to the report, Sanders raped the victim twice during this incident.

Sanders allegedly asked the victim if she would tell anyone what happened and slapped her when she told him she would. According to the report, he threatened her and the victim lied about how she received the red marks on her face.

T\Police said the victim’s mother said that she remembered her daughter mentioning unbuttoning after the first incident, but excused it away. According to the report, the victim’s mother kept a planner as a diary and wrote down on the date of the first incident that she found it strange how her daughter spoke about unbuttoning clothes. Sanders allegedly asked the victim’s mother for her 2016 planner, and that same night the mother claims that her planner went missing. The victim’s mother allegedly provided Shrader with her planners dating back to 2003 and the 2015-2016 book was the only one missing.

Franklin man charged for invasion of privacy

COLUMBUS – A 39-year-old Franklin man Christopher Wilson has been charged with a class A misdemeanor for invasion of privacy.

On Aug. 20, sheriff deputies Zaccary Sheppard and Trevor Johnson responded to the 6100 block of John Butler Road in reference to an invasion of privacy. According to the report, a neighbor reported a verbal domestic at Charlee Ison’s house where he heard screaming and advised there was an active protection between the two parties.

While en route, dispatch allegedly advised that they located an active protection order between Ison and Wilson. The protective order was served on Aug. 6 and does not expire until Aug. 6, 2026.

According to the report, Ison told the deputies that Wilson came to the residence claiming to be there to check on his dog. Wilson had allegedly been texting Ison’s sister the day prior to him arriving at the residence. According to the report, Ison’s sister took the dog outside and confronted Wilson. Ison allegedly stayed inside and photographed Wilson from the house. According to the report, nothing physical occurred.

Indianapolis woman charged with misdemeanors for driving while suspended

NASHVILLE – A 29-year-old Indianapolis woman Payton Maggard has been charged with a class A misdemeanor for driving a motor vehicle while suspended with a prior suspension within 10 years and a class C misdemeanor for operating a vehicle without financial responsibility and having a prior unrelated conviction or judgment.

On Aug. 4, Sheriff’s Deputy Oliver Hitz was parked at the intersection of Magnolia Lane and State Road 46, observing traffic when a red 2021 Hyundai Kona drove past. According to the report, the driver hid her face from Hitz while the passenger looked back at Hitz to check if he had driven behind them.

The vehicle was allegedly registered to Maggard and her driving status returned as suspended with prior convictions. According to the report, Hitz followed the vehicle and stopped it at the McDonald’s parking lot in Nashville.

Hitz allegedly informed Maggard of her driving status and asked for the license and registration for the vehicle. Maggard was allegedly able to present the registration, but did not have a driver’s license. According to the report, she told Hitz that she fixed everything with the BMV but had not received her new driver’s license, she also could not provide proof of insurance.

According to the report, Maggard has 14 suspensions and 10 convictions with the most recent suspensions in 2021. Hitz allegedly provided Maggard with an information and summons document and released the vehicle to her husband who provided a valid driver’s license.
