Where’s There: Jams, butters, BLTs, oh my!

Howdy Brown County! We’re a lot closer to home this week than we were last.

It’s your persistent passenger exploring a Nashville staple located on East Washington Street. I remember walking here from school before rehearsal or practice to study over one of their extra crispy BLTs— I was a different person back then, this was pre-vegetarian Dakota. I still get the hankering for a BLT every once in a while, but instead I’ll have my veggie bacon at home.

Hey! You can’t knock a girl for having cravings. Besides, working in Nashville surrounded by the smells of local restaurants makes it that much harder. This store was a one-stop-shop for antiques, locally made jams and butters, desserts and fresh made foods. It recently reopened under new ownership, and still has that true-to-home feeling.

Think you know where I am? Send us an email at [email protected] or stop by our office with your guess in-person. When there is more than one guess, a person is chosen at random to win their very own copy of 175 Years of Brown County.

Last week we had correct guesses that I was at Indiana Dunes National Park from Terry Heeter, Holli Bruce, Pam Hochstetler, Brooke Hertz and Kristin Lacefield. I’m glad you all were as enthusiastic about the park as I was! Without further ado, our winner from last week’s puzzler is… drum roll please, Kristin Lacefield! Congratulations, Kristin!

Feel free to stop by our office during regular hours (M-F, 9-4) to pick up your copy of 175 Years of Brown County and get a photo taken with me!

We are out and about a lot, so you might want to call ahead (988-2221) to make sure I’m here.
