Art Guild Director says thanks

Editor:

Thank you to all who supported Art Colony Weekend 2024 in any way, including The Brown County Art Gallery, T.C. Steele State Historic Site, The Brown County History Center, The Brown County Playhouse, Artist Associates of Brown County Indiana, All Things Brown County, The Brown County Community Foundation, The Indiana Arts Commission, and all the local galleries and shops that shared information about the artistic resources and events that make Brown County so very special.

We would like to extend our sincerest gratitude to our event sponsors for their generous support of the Art Colony Weekend. Their contributions made this event possible and allowed us to showcase the incredible art throughout the Brown County community. Please thank these supporters if you see them out and about or visit their business and support them! Brown County Music Center, Nancy McMillan, Jill Tasker and Doug Stender, Austin Insurance, Cindy and Rick Colglazier, Hobnob Corner, Nashville Spice Co, Donna and Bud Tacket, Hoosier Buddy Liquors and Fallen Leaf Books.

Special thanks to Joe Gore, Guild Founder Ken Gore’s nephew, Joan Rigley and Ellen Carter, Guild Founder Fred Rigley’s daughters, for loaning paintings for the Founders Exhibition. The exhibit is stunning, and it is made more special by their contributions. We also thank the artists that are members of the Guild both past and present as their legacy of art will be here as part of our history.

Also, thank you to our board of directors for being there as volunteers and leaders for our event and our organization. We also couldn’t do what we do without the great staff at the Guild including Marti Garvey, Lael George, Becky Fisher, and Grant DiDomizio.

I know I am gushing with gratitude but that is what is great about this community. They are supportive of the arts and encourage collaboration. So, next year we are looking for an even bigger and better event! If you want to get involved, reach out to me at the Guild.

Thank you,

Sean Hildreth
