Where’s there: A blast from the past

Hey there, Brown County! Your hardy hiker is back with a new location — and I am not using that term lightly, my boyfriend and I spent our Saturday hiking the hills of Brown County State Park. If you saw me, no you didn’t… I don’t even want to imagine how I looked tromping through the trails. There might be photos of me at the upcoming Bigfoot Conference this weekend.

This location holds the secrets and legends of Brown County’s past. Squashed between the library and pioneer village, this is your one stop shop for all things local history and heritage.

If the covered wagon does not give it away, maybe the smell of books and archives will — you will have to use your imagination for that part.

So, Brown County… where’s there?

Think you know where I am? Send us an email at [email protected] or stop by our office with your guess in-person. When there is more than one correct guess, a person is chosen at random to win their very own copy of 175 Years of Brown County.

Last week we did not have any correct guesses that I was at the Cornerstone Inn Lodge! Come on guys. I expect more from you. I’m not mad, just disapointed. Not disappointed enough to stop my county-wide quest, but disconcerted nonetheless. Nothing could make me stop these weekly puzzlers, we have way too much fun for that.

We did have one guess from Betty Taggart for the Abe Martin Lodge that just missed the mark — you were close, Betty! Thank you for playing along and being such a good sport! The Abe Martin Lodge is another fun location I may have to venture near soon … no hints here.
