WEST CHESTER
Madeline Deckard, 83, beloved wife of Joseph D. Deckard, went to be with the Lord on October 2, 2024, in West Chester, Ohio. She was born on May 23, 1941 in Brown County, Indiana and graduated in 1959 from Nashville High School and in 1963 from Indiana University. She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Katherine L. and James S. Townsend, and son and daughter-in-law, Andrew J. and Catherine J. Deckard. Also survived by her granddaughter and grandson-in-law, Julia P. Townsend and Daniel J. Matthews, granddaughter and grandson-in-law, Jessica A. Townsend and Andrew J. Smith, granddaughter Kristina M. Townsend, brother-in-law David W. David, and sister-in-law Marlene J. Allen. Also preceded in passing by her parents, Harold F. and Ella I. Shields, parents-in-law, Irvin M. and Erma V. Deckard, sister and brother-in-law, Rosetta and James R. Taylor, sister Mary Jane David, and brother-in-law, Blaine O. Allen.
Graveside service will be Tuesday, October 22, 2024, at 2:00pm at Duncan Cemetery at 4100 Yellowwood Rd, Nashville, Indiana 47448.
