Judith “Jude” Bentley

PRESCOTT, AZ

Judith (Jude) Eileen Bentley, beloved wife of Michael J. Gunn of Prescott, Arizona, passed on October 12, 2024. Jude was born in Trenton, New Jersey on July 15, 1944. She is preceded in death by her mother, Margaret Werner (Byrne) and her father, Paul E. Werner. She is survived by her husband and her sister, Charlotte Ballog.

Jude attended public schools in Evergreen, Colorado and graduated in 1962. She attended and graduated cum laude from the University of Colorado with a bachelor’s of science in finance and marketing in 1985.

In her professional life, she held marketing and advertising management positions and was always willing to make time to help and guide others. Her advertising campaigns won numerous awards throughout her career.

She was an active member of the national P.E.O. sorority, benefiting and championing women’s education. She accepted leadership roles and various duties in three different chapters. She never shunned the workload. Jude was a doer and worked to help others reach their goals.

Jude always loved nature and its beauty. Over the years she expressed this passion through her skilled creation of quilts. Her quilts grace many family and friends homes. Hundreds of quilts were donated to needy families and through Habitat for Humanity from her quilting group “QUILTS” and guilds. She was instrumental in bringing back the Heritage Quilt Show to Bloomington, Indiana and its success.

Jude’s house was always warm and welcoming. Her much loved cats were always there to greet any visitors. She will be missed tremendously by her family and friends.

There will be no memorial service. However, if you would like to honor Jude’s memory, a donation could be made in her name to the Brown County Humane Society, Brown County, Indiana.
