Letter: Republican division has voter wondering about local party

To the editor:

I am a conservative, a registered Republican who votes for candidates who align with my concerns. I find it interesting how the national Republican Party holds itself out as avid supporters of democracy including but not limited to the First and Second amendment of the U.S. Constitution.

First Amendment: Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances.

Second Amendment: A well-regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed.

It is very disturbing to learn that what I thought to be the Brown County Republican Party is nothing more than the local Brown County RINO Club. It is obvious the local RINO Club is being supported by the precinct committee members who are, for the most part, busy pawns of their leader and his vice while uniting in their hypocritical group think.

This local RINO Club’s behavior over the last several weeks is a notable example of political persecution and cancels out what I thought was good. It is clear the group does not support the First Amendment! What should we expect next from the local RINO Club? What is next? Their leader cannot control the primary winner for commissioner, so asked a man to run for commissioner as an Independent Party and is supporting him.

The term “Republican in Good-Standing” shall be defined as a Republican who supports Republican nominees and who does not actively or openly support another candidate against a Republican nominee. Not one who is in clear violation of Rule 1-25.

It is interesting how our county is blessed with a true Republican candidate who has spent years of his time, energy, and money into our county documenting the good, bad, and the ugly, and what does the local RINO Club do? They attack, slander, and seek to destroy Tim Clark’s reputation. All because they did not agree with his personal opinion. So much for free speech in Brown County!
