In celebration of Volunteer Appreciation Week (April 10-16), the Brown County Humane Society would like to thank the more than 150 volunteers who contribute their time, talents and compassion to fulfilling our goal of finding a home for every animal that comes through our doors.
We rely on our volunteers, who donate many talents, to help us provide the best care for the animals entrusted to us, to assist with our programs, to spread awareness of our mission and to raise funds to support our organization.
It is only with their dedication and assistance that we are able to be a little shelter with big results.

Joule is the little cat everyone asks for. He’s friendly, playful, cuddly and he loves dogs! He even runs to greet you when you come home. Joule enjoys playing with his toys but loves to snuggle up on your lap even more. In his first foster home, he made himself right at home with two big dogs, insisting that they be his new best friends.
Joule has feline leukemia (FeLV+). He’s healthy, but he’ll need an indoor-only home with no other cats. Dogs and people are just fine, though! If you’re looking for just one great cat, Joule is the whole “cat” and caboodle! Joule is in a foster home, so just call the shelter at 812-988-7362 to make an appointment to meet him.
