Police make arrest after traffic stop

A traffic stop in downtown Nashville on April 20 resulted in the arrest of a Columbus man for driving while intoxicated.

Todd P. Miller, 25, was pulled over by Nashville Police Officer Michael Williams for speeding in the 200 block of South Van Buren Street at around 4:19 a.m.

Williams reported smelling alcohol on Miller, that his eyes were bloodshot, his manual dexterity was poor, his balance was “unsteady/swaying” and that he staggered from the vehicle, the probable cause affidavit states.

A breath test showed his blood-alcohol content to be 0.15, nearly twice the legal limit for a driver.

He was charged with operating a vehicle while intoxicated and operating a vehicle with an ACE of 0.08 or more. The misdemeanors were elevated to Level 6 felonies since Miller was charged with the same counts in 2015 in Bartholomew County.
