Letter: Morel mushroom sale made thousands for charities

To the editor:

The planning committee of Bob Kirlin, Shirley Boardman and Kim Robinson would like to thank everyone who participated in the 20th Annual Howard Hughes Memorial Morel Sale. We sold 275 pounds of Oregon Morel mushrooms in record time! Once again we were blessed with great weather, eager volunteers and hungry buyers.

The profits from the sale go to each purchaser’s designated charity. This year a total of $7,000 in pay-outs will be made reaching 38 local organizations. The Brown County Community Foundation manages the finances of the sale and distributes the pay-outs.

Thank you,

Kim Robinson, executive director, Brown County YMCA
