SCHOOL NEWS: Staff changes approved

The Brown County School Board of Trustees approved the following June 28:

  • The Brown County Schools administrator benefits handbook; support staff handbook; and preschool through sixth grade before- and after-school care program manual.
  • Staffing of the BCS summer school program for a maximum of eight days, six hours per day. State reimbursement is estimated at 61.79 percent or more of the total cost of salary and wages for teachers and paraprofessionals.
  • An out-of-state field trip for the Brown County High School show choirs to attend the Show Choirs of America camp at Heidelberg University in Tiffin, Ohio, July 8 to 14.
  • Separating BCHS cheer coach Lacee Robinson, effective July 31. This was not a termination.
  • Separating Brown County Junior High School co-Spell Bowl coach Kevin Roush, effective June 7. This was not a termination.
  • Separating BCJHS co-Spell Bowl coach Brad Baughman, effective June 9. This was not a termination.
  • Separating BCS special needs bus driver Kaeley Taylor, effective June 19. This was not a termination.
  • Appointing Sprunica Elementary School after-school care supervisor Kirsten McDaniel, 180 days per year, $13.75 per hour, effective Aug. 8.
  • Appointing BCHS assistant volleyball coach Elaine Tillotson, effective Aug. 8, $2,302 stipend. She is a replacement for Dean Keefauver.
  • Appointing Helmsburg Elementary School preschool teacher Jodie Silbaugh, full-time with benefits, $15.25 per hour, 184 days per year, effective Aug. 6. She is a replacement for Caroline Muller.
  • Appointing BCHS English language arts teacher Rebekah Bryan, full-time with benefits, bachelor’s level 5, $41,200 per year, 184 days, effective Aug. 6. She is a replacement for Dustin Robinson.
  • Appointing BCJHS cheer coach Amanda Grider, effective Aug. 8, $2,302 stipend. She is a replacement for Terri Whitcomb.
  • Appointing Brown County Intermediate School assistant track coach Kathryn Lane, effective Aug. 8, $1,241 stipend. She is a replacement for Chasity Smith, who was appointed BCIS head track coach as a replacement for Jacob Koressel.
  • Appointing BCJHS cross-country assistant coach Jim McFall, effective Aug. 8, $1,241 stipend. He is a replacement for Chasity Smith.
  • Appointing BCIS fifth-grade volleyball coach Kathryn Lane, effective Aug. 8, $993 stipend. She is a replacement for Jacob Koressel.
  • Appointing BCIS boys’ head track coach Eric Fohl, effective Aug. 8, $2,234 stipend. He is a replacement for Matt Williams.
  • Appointing HES instructional team leaders Brenda Ely and Staci Harden, $1,113 each; Science Bowl sponsor Brenda Ely, $559 stipend; Science Fair coordinator Ely, $868 stipend; Math Bowl coach Jill Miller, $559 stipend; high ability coach Michelle Joy, $2,226 stipend; instructional tech coaches Olivia Hobbs and Natalie Robison, $1,113 each; Spell Bowl coach Hobbs, $559 stipend; special education instructional leader Harden, $2,226 stipend.
