COUNTY NEWS: Council board appointments; commissioners meeting time change

County council begins board appointment process

The Brown County Council is now accepting resumes and letters of interest from people seeking appointment to various county boards.

The boards with open seats are: Alcohol Beverage Board; Brown County Public Library Board; Parks and Recreation Board; Brown County Regional Sewer District Board; Property Tax Assessment Board of Appeals; Area Plan Commission; and the Brown County Redevelopment Commission.

All applicants, including those who are reapplying, must submit their resume and/or letters of interest to the county auditor by 4 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 14. Applicants must also attend the county council meeting the following Monday, Dec. 17 at 6:30 p.m. in the Salmon Room at the County Office Building.

Applicants will be asked to speak briefly to the council about why they wish to serve and their qualifications.

Contact the auditor at 812-988-5485 for further information.

Commissioners to meet earlier on Dec. 19

Due to a scheduling conflict with the Brown County Board of Zoning Appeals the Brown County Commissioners will meet earlier in the day on their regularly scheduled meeting day Dec. 19.

The commissioners voted to unanimously approve the time change from the usual 6 p.m. for the second meeting in December to 2 p.m. at their Nov. 20 meeting.

The meeting will still take place in the Salmon Room at the County Office Building.
