Woman injured in crash after three deer run in front of vehicle

HAMBLEN TWP. — A local woman was injured in a crash yesterday evening when three deer ran out in front of her vehicle on Gold Point Road.

Samantha West, 33, of Brown County, was driving south in the 9200 block when she noticed the deer in the road, an accident report by Brown County Sheriff’s Deputy Josh Stargell states. West told police the deer then left the road, but then ran back in front of her vehicle. She said she swerved and ran off the east side of the road, causing her vehicle to overturn, the report states.

West drove to her home on Gold Point Road before first responders arrived on scene. She had complaints of right shoulder pain, an abrasion on her left thigh and a bloody nose. She refused further treatment by EMS, according to the report.
