TERRE HAUTE — The lone Eagle in Saturday’s state cross-country meet — a freshman — finished in the upper third of all competitors.

Hadley Gradolf ran 5,000 meters (3.1 miles) in 19:20.5 to place 57th at the finals at LaVern Gibson Championship Cross Country Course.

“I don’t think I ran my best, but I ran OK,” Gradolf said. “It was nice (weather) compared to last week. I think it’s a very nice course.”
