Coach’s comments: The Eagles battled tough with a solid and back-to-full-strength Edgewood team. Brown County battled back several times to keep it close but couldn’t get over the hump. Aaron McCann led the Eagles with 20 points and four rebounds. Travis Ely added 11, and Nicholas Huls dished out three assists to go with a couple of steals and deflections.

Coach’s comments: A state-ranked Indian Creek team caused the Eagles havoc in a brutal first quarter. Brown County fought on to play the Braves even over the course of the final three quarters, but couldn’t recover from the gigantic first-quarter hole. Nicholas Huls led the Eagles with 13 points on an efficient 6-10 performance. He added five rebounds. Aaron McCann and Travis Ely each chipped in eight. McCann also led the team with a game-high 13 rebounds and eight deflections. Seth Oliphant had four assists. The Eagles will take on Southwestern Shelbyville at home next Friday night, in a rematch of a back-and-forth game that came down to the wire just a few weeks ago.

Coach’s comments: This was senior night for the two seniors, David Tucker (145) and Evan Bradshaw (195); both won their matches. The Eagles gave up forfeits at 113, 120, 126 and 138, setting themselves back 24 points right away. At 138, Chris Luckey pinned Conner Rogers. At 145, Aiden Vaught received a forfeit. At 152, David Tucker pinned Cole Olmstead. At 160, Brandon Phelps pinned Charlie Campbell. At 170, Reid Davis was pinned by Jerry McBee. At 182, Hunter Funkhouser was techfalled by Eli Houshaw. At 195, Evan Bradshaw defeated Bryce Hills with a major decision. At 220, Lane Mullins received a forfeit. At 285, Sam Allen was pinned by Logan McGraw. The Eagles will wrestle again at home this Saturday at the Brown County Invitational. The meet starts at 9.

Coach’s comments: The Eagles finished 2-3 at their invite. The Eagles’ win over Western Boone came down to criteria and Brown County won through the tie-breaker. Senior David Tucker (145) finished 5-0 and reached 100 career wins. Freshman Sam Allen (285) also finished 5-0. At 132, Chris Luckey finished 2-3. At 145, David Tucker finished 5-0. At 152, Aiden Vaught finished 3-2. At 160, Andy Weddle finished 1-4. At 170, Reid Davis finished 2-3. At 182, Hunter Funkhouser finished 3-2. At 195, Evan Bradshaw finished 4-1.
