Soccer club in Columbus open for tryouts

COLUMBUS — Columbus Express Soccer Club will be hosting team tryouts between Monday and Thursday, June 22 to 25 at Richard Wigh Soccer Complex in Columbus, for children born between 2002 and 2010.

Columbus Express is seeking dedicated and ambitious players that want to improve through immersion in a competitive environment, a holistic player development approach, and adaptive and educated coaching.

Columbus Express has been around since 1977.

New youth marksmanship program starting

The Hoosier Hills Rifle and Pistol Club is sponsoring a new shooting sports program for boys and girls ages 13 to 18. Youth will learn gun safety, marksmanship skills, and earn skill awards using 22-caliber rifles, shooting at paper targets at an outdoor range. Certified instructors and coaches are provided.

Training and practice sessions will take place on Wednesday evenings.
