Ascension Fine Arts will show works by artist Bill Bateman from July 22 through Aug. 24.

Bateman worked as a professional artist in New York City for many years before relocating to Brown County. Painting in a surreal style, Bateman says his work relies on the viewer’s subconscious associations to complete the painting. Each viewer’s personal experiences and psychological reactions will influence what is seen in the image.

The show is open during regular business hours, Wednesday through Sunday, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Ascension Fine Arts is in the Village Green Building, 61 W. Main St. Bateman’s studio is located on the third floor of the building and additional work can be seen by appointment.
