Art Association of Brown County

The Art Association of Brown County will meet virtually on Zoom Wednesday, Jan. 13 at 7 p.m. Discussion will cover last year’s accomplishments, Playhouse gallery updates, AABC membership and dues, networking of local artists and members and their accomplishments.

Rotary club

The Brown County Rotary Club will meet over Zoom at 8 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 14.

Guest speakers will be co-authors Graham Honaker and Jerry Logan, discussing their new book, “The Cinderella Strategy: The Game Plan Behind Butler University’s Rise to Prominence.” The book will be released in March and analyzes the role of leadership, strategy and culture as well as the history of basketball legends such as Gregg Popovich, Brad Stevens, Jay Wright and Bobby Plump.

Honaker is in his ninth year at Butler, currently as executive director of Principal Gifts. He has worked on various campaigns for Butler including the Hinkle Fieldhouse, the Lacy School of Business and the ongoing Butler Beyond campaigns. He serves on the boards of Milan ’54 Hoosiers Museum and Project 44 and is a trustee of the Robert Greenleaf Center for Servant Leadership at Seton Hall University. He earned a bachelor’s degree in psychology from Wake Forest University, a master’s degree in kinesiology and exercise science from Indiana University, and an MBA from the University of Louisville. He lives in Indianapolis with his wife, Sarah, and two daughters, Kate and Bella.

Logan is director of academic operations and a lecturer in the recreation, sport and wellness program at Gordon College in Wenham, Massachusetts. He teaches courses in leadership, programming and leisure theory for the recreation, sport and wellness major. His research focuses on the use of big-time college athletics programs for the greater good of their universities. He holds a Ph.D. in higher education from Boston College and a master’s degree in higher education administration from the College of William and Mary. Jerry lives in Beverly, Massachusetts, with his wife, Lisa, and their three children.
