TREVLAC — A 20-year-old Westfield woman was checked out by EMS after she crashed and overturned her car while driving on State Road 45.

An overturned vehicle in a ditch was reported to dispatch just after 7 p.m. Jan. 8 at the intersection of 45 and Branstetter Road, according to an accident report by Brown County Sheriff’s Deputy Josh Stargell.

Stargell talked with Sage Mings, who was out walking around. She told Stargell she was driving her Mazda 3 west toward Bloomington when she came through a left curve and did not realize how sharp the turn was, the accident report states. Mings told Stargell she may have been driving too fast for the curve. She said she decided to drive off the edge of the road, but did not know there was a ditch there. When her vehicle went down into the ditch, it overturned.

Mings was checked out by EMS and cleared of any injuries, according to the report. Her vehicle was towed from the scene.
