Nashville man faces felony after drunken driving arrest

Police say a Nashville man was driving drunk when he was pulled over in the 7000 block of State Road 46 East Jan. 28.

According to a probable cause affidavit by Sgt. Bill Southerland, Deputy Wayne Robbins reported seeing Steven R. Young, 36, operate a vehicle at around 12:20 a.m.

Southerland reported smelling alcohol on him, that his speech was slurred, his eyes were red/watery and his balance was unsteady. He failed three field tests.

A breath test showed his blood-alcohol content to be 0.14. He was arrested and taken to the Brown County jail.

Young was charged Jan. 31 with operating a vehicle while intoxicated and operating a motor vehicle with an ACE of 0.08 or more, both Class C misdemeanors.

Both counts were elevated to Level 6 felonies since Young had been convicted of a operating a vehicle while intoxicated in Brown County in 2015.
