Carolyn Robbins

Carolyn M. (Wyrick) Robbins, 92, passed away Saturday morning, Feb. 18, 2017, at IU Health & Hospice House in Bloomington. She was a resident of Bean Blossom.

Carolyn was born on March 10, 1924, in Rushville, to her parents, the late Luther and Mattie (Stout) Wyrick. She married Edgar D. Robbins on Oct. 21, 1943, in Mobile, Alabama. He preceded her in death on July 11, 2004, after 61 loving years of marriage.

Carolyn and her husband were the owners and operator of Robbins Drive-Inn Restaurant (currently Brownie’s Family Restaurant) in Bean Blossom from 1963 to 1979. In 2003, Carolyn retired as the manager of the Lunch Cove in Nashville after 20 years of service.

She was a member of the Salvation Army Church of Brown County. Carolyn enjoyed cooking, crocheting, working in her flower and vegetable gardens and feeding the hummingbirds. She was a fan of soap operas and loved her family dearly, especially her grandchildren.

Carolyn will be remembered as the “greatest mom” by her three daughters, Patricia Regenauer of Bloomington and Debbie Larsh and Ruth Ellen Evans, both of Bean Blossom; grandchildren, Monica Irauzqui of Stowe, Vermont, William Robertson of Martinsville, Christine L. Hart of Roanoke, Virginia, Kasey Evans of Nashville and Maggie Evans of Bean Blossom; great-grandchildren, Brianna Robertson of Nashville, Brandon Robertson of Columbus, Kiera and Abigail Omberg, both of Roanoke, Virginia, and Pablo and Carolina Irauzqui, both of Stowe, Vermont; and great-great-grandchildren, Parker and Cason Robertson.

She was preceded in death by her husband; sons-in-law, John S. Evans and George T. Regenauer; and siblings, Edna, Opal, Claribel and James W. Wyrick.

The Rev. Phil Barrett will conduct a celebration of life service at 1 p.m. Saturday, March 25 at The Salvation Army Church of Brown County, 168 S. Jefferson St. in Nashville. Friends may call from noon until service time at the church.

Cremation services have been entrusted to Meredith-Clark Funeral Home Cremation & Personalization Center in Morgantown.
