Police: Man who ran turned self in

A Nashville man who allegedly ran from an officer trying to serve a warrant on him ended up turning himself in later that day.

Duran A. Morgan, 23, ran from Brown County Sheriff’s Deputy Paul Henderson on June 6. Henderson went to a home in the 1500 block of Upper Schooner Road after being told Morgan was there and that he had two active arrest warrants.

Morgan ran out of the house even as Henderson announced his presence and yelled at him to stop, the officer wrote. Henderson gave chase, but fell and injured both knees and lost sight of Morgan, his report said. He called for a K9 officer to track him, but the dog wasn’t able to find him.

Shortly after, a family member of Morgan’s called the sheriff about Morgan turning himself in, Henderson’s report said. He was booked in on June 6.

Henderson’s fall caused internal damage to one of his knees; he was referred to an orthopedic physician, the report said.

Morgan was charged in March with two counts of invasion of privacy, one a misdemeanor and the other a felony, according to online court records. He also had an active no-contact order against him out of Owen County, Henderson’s report said.

Morgan was charged on June 7 in Brown Circuit Court with resisting law enforcement, a Level 6 felony.
