Aug. 30

Brown County 187, Indian Creek 213

Brown Co.: Ashley Masteller 43 (medalist), Allison Stogsdill 48, Taylor Poling 51, Ainslie Winton 54, Abby Padgett 60

Coach’s comments: Playing two consecutive matches at home must have inspired the BCHS golfers, as they posted one of their best nine-hole scores of the season and defeated the Indian Creek Braves 196 to 213. Ashley Masteller overcame a couple of tough holes to post a 43 to earn medalist honors, and she got help from her two junior teammates. Allison Stogsdill recorded her first sub-50 round of the season with a 48, and Taylor Poling turned in a solid 51. After a four day holiday break, the Eagles resume play on Tuesday, September 4, when they travel to conference foe Owen Valley.

Sept. 4

Brown County 186, Owen Valley 205

Brown Co.: Ashley Masteller 35, Allison Stogsdill 48, Ainslie Winton 51, Taylor Poling 52, Abby Padgett 63

Coach’s comments: The four-day Labor Day break did not seem to bother the BCHS golfers one bit, as they posted their best nine-hole score of the season to defeat a very competitive Owen Valley squad on their home course, Rolling Meadows. Ashley Masteller birdied her last three holes to shoot a one-under-par 35, outdistancing her nearest competitor by 11 strokes. Shooting her second consecutive 48 was Allison Stogsdill. The 186 turned in by the Eagles bested their previous low score by four strokes and pushed their record in duals and three-way matches to 11 and 1. Overall, the Eagles are currently 25 and 6. The squad will host Edinburgh Wednesday, Sept. 12, for what should be the last regular season match. Senior Ashley Masteller will be honored in a brief ceremony following the match.
