Woman flown out after crash on 46 West

BELMONT — After crawling from her crashed vehicle on State Road 46 West, a 76-year-old Nashville woman was flown by a medical helicopter to a hospital on July 27.

Lucille Bond told police she was driving home from work at about 8 a.m. on 46 West near Bambi Lane when the crash occurred, according to an accident report by Brown County Sheriff’s Deputy William Pool.

After crashing, Bond climbed from her truck in a ditch to the north side of the highway and a passerby stopped to help her, the report states.

Bond said she could not remember what happened, but that she was driving west when her truck left the road and crashed into a large ditch.

She was taken to Indiana University Health Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis for treatment of a skull fracture and multiple other injuries, the report states.

Her truck was towed. She was wearing a seat belt.
