ART BRIEFS: Online winter painting contest; international nativities featured at gallery

Winter painting contest happening online this year

The Brown County Art Guild will host its first online art contest the last week of February in place of the annual Patron and Youth Exhibition.

Artists ages 15 and older are encouraged to enter up to three works of art. All painting mediums are accepted. Registration is $15 per submission. A complete list of rules and eligibility requirements is available at browncountyartguild.org/can-you-paint.

All submissions will be judged by guild artist Donna Shortt. Winners will be announced Feb. 28 on Facebook and Instagram. A cash prize of $250 goes to the first-place winner, $125 for second and $75 for third.

Open voting on finalists’ artwork will take place on Facebook Feb. 21 to 25 and a $50 People’s Choice Award will be presented to the artist with the most online votes.
