A Tennessee woman and a Nashville man were injured and taken to a hospital on July 26 after a two-vehicle crash on State Road 46 East.

The crash was reported just before 11:30 a.m. near the intersection with Old State Road 46. A witness told Brown County Sheriff’s Deputy Greg Duke that she was driving east on 46 East when she noticed a vehicle stopped on Old 46 at the intersection. As she passed the vehicle, she noticed it begin to move forward onto 46 East. Knowing that there was a vehicle behind her, the witness looked in her rearview mirror and reported seeing the vehicle crash into the one behind her, an accident report states.

The driver behind the witness — 52-year-old Linda Short of McMinnville, Tennessee — said she was driving east when the vehicle from Old 46 — driven by 76-year-old Albertus Imming of Nashville — drove from the stop sign on Old 46 and into her lane of travel.

Imming was unable to recall what had happened, according to the report.

The impact caused Imming’s vehicle to spin around and face west. Short’s vehicle ran off the road.

Duke noted that Imming had multiple health issues, including sight problems.

Short was taken to a hospital for treatment of her injuries, including an injury to her leg. She was wearing a seat belt. Her vehicle was towed.

Imming also was taken to a hospital for treatment of a neck injury. He was wearing a seat belt. His vehicle was towed.
