NINEVEH- A 38-year-old woman, Christina Williams, has been charged with a level 5 felony for possession of methamphetamine.

On March 7, Brown County Dispatch advised Sergeant William Pool that Brown County Community Corrections was at a house doing a check and allegedly located narcotics. According to the report, Pool knew from prior incidents that Williams resided at the residence. According to the report, Community Corrections Officer Darcy Mobley advised Pool that they allegedly located suspected methamphetamine in William’s purse in her residence. Mobley allegedly also located suspected methamphetamine residue in a piece of aluminum foil stored in a drawer.

According to the report, Williams allegedly admitted to Mobley that she had been using methamphetamine for a few weeks and identified what they located as methamphetamine. According to the report, Williams was transported to the Brown County Sheriff’s Department and booked in for possession of methamphetamine and paraphernalia

Sex offender charged with failing to register

FREETOWN- A 69-year-old-man, Donald Elifritz, has been charged with a level 6 felony for failing to properly register as a sex offender. In early December Detective Brian Shrader and Sheriff’s Deputy Josh Bales learned that Elifritz was no longer living in the 8700 block on State Road 135 S. According to the report, Elifritz is a registered sex offender and is required to report any changes in his home address.

According to the report, Shrader allegedly waited to file anything because the annual registrations were scheduled for January and he wanted to see if Elifritz would appear at his scheduled time to report the changes. Elifritz allegedly did not appear for his scheduled time or notify the Sheriff’s Department.

According to the report, sex offenders can go into the Sheriff’s Department and report any changes they have on the iPad in the lobby. Shrader is notified anytime information is changed and Elifritz allegedly did not change his information. Shrader looked up Elifritz’s vehicle registration and found that he was still driving a black Ford Taurus. According to the report the vehicle has shown up in Columbus and Bloomington over the last month. Sex offenders are required to notify Shrader of any changes within 72 hours. According to the report, Shrader allegedly does not know where Elifritz is currently living but said Shrader said he frequents Columbus and Bloomington.

Police: Driver ran off 135 while distracted eating

WASHINGTON TWP- On March 9, Sheriff’s Sergeant Austin Schonfeld responded to a crash on State Road 135 N. According to the report, the road was wet. According to the report, Gwen Zimmberly was eating when she ran off the road initially and was unable to correct her vehicle back on the road.

Zimmberly was checked out by Emergency Medical Services because of pain in her elbow and lower arm but allegedly refused further assistance.

Teen to hospital after vehicle collided with deer

JACKSON TWP- On March 7, Sheriff’s Deputy Jacob Gibson responded to a crash on State Road 135 N. According to the report, Jaxson Hayworth, 17, was driving when a deer ran in front of his vehicle from the passenger side of the road. Due to the impact of striking the deer, the airbags deployed. According to the report, the passenger Keavenly Hayworth, 14, complained of lower leg pain after the airbags under the dashboard deployed. Keavenly was transported by Emergency Medical Services to Columbus Regional Hospital and the vehicle was towed. Jaxson allegedly did not report any injuries during the crash.
