Living Art Colony event Friday
The Nashville Arts and Entertainment Commission, Pioneer Women and Brown County History Center will present the Living Art Colony on Friday from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Pioneer Village and History Center, 90 E. Gould St.
Friday’s event will include textile crafts, blacksmithing, an apothecarist, storytellers, en plein air artists and traditional musicians. The event will lead into the Village Art Walk in Nashville, organizers said. It’s the third monthly event of its kind, following events in August and September, and the final event of the four-month series will take place from 4 to 7 p.m. and Friday, Nov. 29.
The last date in November is scheduled to focus on traditional holiday themes, organizers said. This is the first year for the series of events, which planners hope will become an annual tradition.
“Some people dress up as costumed characters from old Nashville, others dress in period costume from the pioneer era,” Nashville Arts and Entertainment Commission President Melanie Voland told The Democrat.

The guild is a not-for-profit organization located in the heart of downtown Nashville at 48 S. Van Buren St. On display throughout its galleries is a prized collection of historic paintings as well as current works for sale from regional award-winning member artists. Also offered throughout the year are artist demonstrations, workshops, and special exhibits.
Hours through December are 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Saturday, noon-4 p.m. Sunday, or by appointment.

Annual Studio Tour through Oct. 31
The 26th annual Brown County Studio Tour runs through Oct. 31. This is a self-guided tour of working artists’ studios throughout Brown County. Enjoy Brown County’s scenic backroads as you travel to different locations where you will have the unique opportunity to meet the artists, tour their studios and purchase directly from them.
