Rev. Jim Hoskins, age 88 of Brown County, went home to be with his Lord and Savior on Wednesday morning, April 17, 2024.

Jim was born July 26, 1935 in Asher, Kentucky to his parents, the late Alvin and Nancy (Bowling) Hoskins. He retired in 1991 from the Maintenance Department of Chevy Truck &Bus Plant in Flint, Michigan. Jim was a member of the United Auto Workers Union Local #598 in Flint, Michigan. After retirement, he built and established the Faith Full Gospel Church in Brown County where he served as the Pastor for the last 23 years.

Jim enjoyed the outdoors by camping, fishing and tending to his vegetable garden. He loved reading his Bible and caring for his church family. Jim will be remembered for his love of God, and family, especially his grandchildren who were his pride and joy.

Besides his parents, Jim was preceded in death by a daughter, Star Morgan; grandsons, Morgan LaVere &Dalton Couch; and siblings, Ruth Bowling, Romaine Smith, Evelyn Roark &Patrick Hoskins.

He will be missed by his loving and devoted wife of 70 years, Shirley (Morgan) Hoskins, whom he married on January 2, 1954 in Jonesville, Virginia. Jim is also survived by his daughters, Rita (Buck) King, Connie Jones &Nancy Ella Hoskins all of Brown County; siblings, Betty (Bobby) Hoskins of Lexington, Kentucky and Doyle (Barb) Hoskins of London, Kentucky; son-in-law, Danny Morgan of Brown County; 9 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren &2 great-great grandchildren.

Visitation was held on Friday, April 19th from 4 to 8 p.m. at Meredith-Clark Funeral Home Cremation &Personalization Center, 179 E. Mulberry Street in Morgantown. Pastors Randy LaVere, Mac Smith &Molly King conducted a funeral service at 11 a.m. on Saturday, April 20th at the Faith Full Gospel Church, 6881 St. Rd. 135 in Brown County. Burial followed at East Hill Cemetery in Morgantown.
