WASHINGTON TWP- A 67-year-old man from Freetown, Steve Dinn, has been charged with a Class A Misdemeanor for invasion of privacy violating a protective order.

On March 15 Sheriff’s Deputy Zaccary Sheppard spoke to Casie Jetter, via phone.

According to the report, Jetter said her father Steven Dinn, who she allegedly has a protection order against called her 11 year old daughter, who is also listed as a protected person.

According to the report, Sheppard validated the protection order using the online protection order registry.

Jetter allegedly sent Sheppard a screenshot of her daughter’s phone that showed a missed call from the father’s number. Jetter said her daughter didn’t answer and immediately showed it to her.

According to the report, a copy of the screenshot will be uploaded to the secure online server at the Brown County Sheriff’s Office.

According to the report, Jetter said they returned home that day from a lengthy vacation when her daughter received the phone call. She allegedly said her daughter doesn’t have Dinn’s name saved in her phone, but she knew Dinn’s number.

According to the report, Sheppard checked and discovered the number associated with Dinn matched the one that called Jetter’s daughter. Dinn’s information and phone number was added to the system in 2020.

Jetter allegedly mentioned that a month ago, Dinn asked her ex-husband to contact her and asked if it was OK if one of Dinn’s relatives could contact her daughter. Jetter allegedly said she didn’t report it because she wasn’t totally sure that it was considered a violation.

According to the report, Jetter informed Sheppard that she had already reported Dinn for another violation.

Battery incident reported on Carmel Ridge Road

WASHINGTON TWP- A 21-year-old Indianapolis woman, Nevaeh Chaszar has been charged with a Class A Misdemeanor for Battery with bodily injury.

On March 14 Sheriff’s Deputy Cody Loncaric responded to Carmel Ridge Road for a report of a battery that occurred.

According to the report, the reporting party, Kaylee Kinney, told Brown County Dispatch Nevaeh Chaszar had battered her. Kinney allegedly told dispatch Chaszar had jumped out of a vehicle and started striking her with her fists.

According to the report, Kinney told dispatch Chaszar had fled from the residence. Kinney allegedly told dispatch she was bleeding but didn’t know where it was coming from.

According to the report, Dispatch sent Emergency Medical Services to the residence as well for a checkup. Kinney allegedly didn’t know the exact time of the occurrence, but believed it was around five to 10 minutes before calling to report. This bases the time of the alleged battery at around 11:30 p.m.

According to the report, when police arrived at the residence, he observed Kinney and Gage Walden standing in the driveway waiting. Loncaric allegedly observed Kinney holding what appeared to be a white rag on top of the right side of her head. The rag was allegedly bloody from a laceration located on top of the right side of Kinney’s head. The laceration was allegedly continuously bleeding upon his arrival.

According to the report, Emergency Medical Services arrived shortly after. Loncaric waited for EMS to finish their checkup with Kinney before proceeding and took photographs of the injury to Kinney’s head.

According to the report, when Kinney was released by EMS, Loncaric went into the residence. Kinney and Walden filled out separate witness statement forms about the altercation.

According to the report, Kinney’s brother, Collin Kinney, was at the residence during the altercation, but didn’t witness it. Walden was allegedly outside when the altercation happened and witnessed it. Kinney stated she went outside to help her friend Trinity back out of the driveway due to the weather. Kinney allegedly observed a black car pull up the driveway afterwards. Kinney and Walden both allegedly observed Nevaeh Chaszar exit the black car. According to the report, Kinney stated Chaszar began to strike her with her fists in the head and pull her hair.

According to the report, Kinney was unsure if at some point in the altercation Chaszar pulled out an object and struck her in the head with it. Kinney allegedly stated Chaszar struck her repeatedly in the head while pulling her hair. Kinney allegedly began to pull Chaszar’s hair to attempt to stop her.

According to the report, Walden was able to intervene and separate them. Kinney allegedly told Chaszar she was calling the cops, and Chaszar allegedly fled from the residence. Kinney allegedly told Loncaric she believed this altercation was from past drama between her and Chaszar.

According to the report, Walden told Deputy Loncaric the same information that Kinney gave Loncaric regarding the incident.

Motorcycle crashes on loose gravel; driver hurt

JACKSON TWP. – On Monday, April 15 Sheriff’s Deputy Kyle Minor responded to a crash on South Shore Drive.

According to the report, driver Stanley Burgett was traveling on South Shore when he allegedly hit loose gravel on the roadway.

According to the report he stated he laid the bike down.

Burgett had a complaint of pain near his arm and also stated he had some road rash.

According to the report Burgett stated there was no damage to the motorcycle, other than a bent arm rest.

According to the report, Burgett was transported with injuries.

According to the report, the property owner at the crash site allegedly advised Burgett he could leave the bike there to avoid having it towed.
